Born in 1992 in Bonn, Germany.
Moved to The Hague in 2011 to study at the Royal Academy of Arts and completed the study of fine arts in sculpture in 2015. I have been living and working in The Hague since, frequently commuting between Bonn and The Hague for work and family.
Between 2014 and 2021, I worked in different functions at the Royal Academy of Art, mainly as a workshop instructor and technical employee. Simultaneously, I built up my artistic practice, working on sculptures and commissioned work in furniture and objects in my studio in The Hague. I am self-employed since 2021.
As a sculptor, my works consist of objects, texts, prints, and installations produced in an array of materials. A recurring subject and guiding principle is craftsmanship, material, and the history of making. To translate subject and thought into a visual language, I quote historical occurrences as well as my own experiences. The results of these translations are given shape in abstract works that I call condensations.
As a maker, I produce furniture pieces, objects, and prototypes in collaboration with designers and clients. These collaborations come forth from shared interests and the desire to produce novel pieces on an intimate scale. The origin of materials, craftsmanship, and quality guide the process.
As of june 4 2026, come and see the work of Louise Rietvink and myself at our own shop, at Weimarstraat 301 in The Hague. More info available at www.en-de.nl
